This Instagram post is spot on! Jonathan, if you ever want to join forces and take over the world, I'm happy to be the Pinky to your Brain. I know you are happily married hon, I can be the cute trouble maker that shows up, cuts up, cleans up, and then cuts out.

I'm extremely proud of myself for filling a notebook (give or take a few pages) per year organically. I've done it in 2023 and 2024 and already have notebooks line up for 2026-2029. Will that stop me from buying more if I see The Perfect One or Three? Nope.

Why do I specify organically? Because I practice a stream-of-thought style of journaling. In these journals, I don't use prompts. I don't stick to an agenda. These journals are absolutely unfettered Me. Insert tense spooky music. Bestie and kids, if you ever read them, I forgive your being shocked, appalled, and admiring of me. After spending my youth trying to be what I was supposed to be (Never did figure out where that authority is) I decided over the last decade to claim my individuality and live it out and be my own authority. By writing down all the random ways of dealing with emotions, questioning the authority determining who I should be, and all other midlife crises, I've shed a ton of useless emotional and spiritual baggage. It's quite cleansing how having a pretty journal or twenty ready to capture all the mess in is so helpful. Especially when it's a pretty or outrageous or meaningful cover design. My credit card and I will stay home today, away from any stationary shops. Head over to my shop if you'd like a journal or pen that will remind you of this blog-oasis of looniness when you write . . . .
